As Amir was walking down the stairs to leave, Stuart asks Amir if he would help him get something out of the closet. The item is on the top shelf and Stuart can't reach it. Amir agrees to help and follows Stuart.

Once he finishes with that task, Amir gets caught by Ethel, who is also looking for help. Her groceries are too heavy for her to carry, so he agrees to help her bring in the groceries.

After that's finished, Daisy spots him and asks him to help with an accounting problem; the cash registers aren't adding up and Daisy figures because Amir is so smart, he might be able to solve the problem. Off he goes again...

Now that he's finished, he wonders why every day he needs to help. He's a customer, not an employee!

You startle Stuart at the front desk when you walk in. The old man was lost in thought, and says that he was thinking about what he was going to have for lunch. He nervously decides to go and get something to eat, and asks if you would stay at the front desk for a little bit.

After Stuart leaves, Ethel comes out of the back room. You tell her that Stuart was acting a little odd. She says he is fine and this happens from time to time; he is actually still lonely. Ethel explains that they have a son but he's grown up and has left the town. Ever since their son left, Stuart tries to hide how lonely and sad he is. Stuart really misses his son, especially since their son doesn't visit them very often.

Ethel apologizes for bringing up such a depressing topic. Anyhow, now that Daisy is at the hotel, Stuart is happy most of the time. Daisy is like a granddaughter to them.

Stuart comes back to the front desk and notices his wife is there with you. He asks if you two were talking about him and Ethel admits that they may have been. This bothers Stuart a little bit, but then Daisy returns back to the hotel. Daisy calls Stuart "grandpa" and shows him the Mont Blanc that Angelo gave her. It's Stuart's favorite food, and she brought it back just for him.

Daisy realizes that she lost her earring and goes back to find it. Stuart reminds her to be careful.

Ethel is just taking a break from her innkeeping duties, so she has come to the café for a visit. Marian tells them that she's going to go outside and sweep. After she leaves, the ladies begin to gossip.

Ethel comments on how pretty Marian has grown up to be. Joan thinks Marian may of won a beauty contest when she was in the city. Her looks do bring in a lot of customers so it is nice to have her home in Zephyr Town.

Ethel mentions how she hopes that her son would come home to Zephyr Town. The two ladies becomes a little depressed. When Marian comes back inside, she notices that her grandmother and Ethel look like there's something wrong. Ethel says nothing is the matter and leaves.

Joan didn't mean to remind Ethel about her son, who doesn't live in town.
