How to marry Lumina

Lumina is a new bachelorette you can marry in the Playstation 2 version of A Wonderful Life. You cannot marry her in the Gamecube version. Lumina lives at the Villa with her aunt Romana and their butler, Sebastian. Lumina lives in the upstairs room of the Villa.

Lumina's affection level

Marrying Lumina is no more difficult than choosing Nami, Muffy, or Celia. Giving gifts that she likes will increase her hearts. You can see how Lumina feels about you by checking the jewelry box, which is in front of the stuffed bunny in the blue sweater on the back shelf of her living room. A villager needs to be in her room before you can go in and check your love status. You can check it in the morning hours before 10:00 am when either she or Sebastian are in the room, between noon and 1:30, or after 8:00 pm.

Gift Suggestions: Moon Ore, Toy Flower, Goddess Drop, Happy Lamp, Trick Blue, Amorous, Upseed, Gold Wool, Egg, Fertilized Egg

Heart Events

There are four heart events for Lumina that you can trigger; the other girls have five heart events. The events don't seem to occur on days that Van is in town (the 3rd and 8th of every season) or on rainy days. You can see more than one event per day:

First Red Heart Event

First heart event

Walk into the Villa when Lumina is playing the piano, between 10:00 am and noon. Rock, Sebastian, and Romana are listening to her play. When she is finished Romana complements her but suggests that she can be a little more creative.

After Romana leaves, Lumina confesses that she hasn't enjoyed playing the piano lately. She doesn't understand what Romana means by telling her to "play more freely". You can respond by telling her "Just work harder" or "Just have more fun."

If you tell her to have fun, Lumina wants to talk to your privately. She explains she started playing piano when she was 3 years old. Romana was her piano teacher and if she played perfectly, Romana would complement her. Eventually Lumina felt the pressure of her mother's musical skill and became afraid of making mistakes. She wanted to live up to the same level as her mother, but Romana didn't want that to happen. Romana wants Lumina to have fun playing instead.

Lumina feels better talking to you, and believe she can enjoy playing again.

Second Red Heart Event

second heart event

Go into Lumina's parlor room when she's inside, between 7:00 am and 10:00 am, 12:00 pm to 1:30 pm, or 8:00 pm to 10:00 pm. Lumina will be glad that you've come to visit her. She was looking at an art book that Romana had given her. She asks if you would like to talk for a bit. You can answer "With pleasure" or "I'm busy. Maybe some other time."

If you tell her you'll talk with her she'll thank you and explain that the art book was about paintings that a friend of Romana's had made. She's always liked the paintings and feels a sort of warmth when looking at them. You can choose to respond with "What kind of paintings are they?" or "Are they paintings of fires?"; either choice will be fine.

From here on, Lumina will be talking about the paintings. It doesn't matter what choices you make to her questions, you can't select anything that would be a negative response. Eventually,, Lumina will thank you for listening to her.

Third Red Heart Event

third heart event

Walk into the Villa after 7:00 pm and you'll meet with Sebastian. He has created a new menu and would like you to taste test it for him. He takes you towards the kitchen, but when you pass by Romana's room you hear some giggling from inside. Instead of following Sebastian, you stop to listen.

Lumina is with her aunt, and she has apparently just told her elderly relative something. Romana thinks (whatever it was) that it is wonderful and she is surprised that Lumina is at that age. Lumina doesn't understand and mentions some sort of pain...

Sebastian calls to you from the kitchen and scolds you for listening to the ladies. He takes you back into his kitchen and has you taste his dish. After tasting, you can respond with "Delicious!" or "It's... terrible!".

If you tell him it was delicious, Sebastian will be happy. He hopes that Romana and Lumina will enjoy eating it as well. The reason for his new dish was because of Lumina; she has recently become so beautiful that he was inspired to do something new as well. Sebastian theorizes that Lumina must be in love and wonders who the lucky fellow is. He hopes that Lumina's first love goes well. Sebastian thanks you for helping him.

Fourth Red Heart Event

fourth heart event

Walk out of the Villa after 7:00 am and Lumina will catch you on the way out. She wants to know if you'd like to go to the ocean with her. You can choose either "Sure." or "Sorry, I'm busy...".

If you agree to go with her, the two of you go to the shore. Lumina was always worried about getting sunburned so she typically doesn't visit the beach. It is a pretty place to visit. Lumina will ask who was the first person you fell in love with. You can answer "I haven't fallen in love yet.", "I forgot.", or "What about you?". The appropriate choice is to ask about her first love.

Lumina explains that Romana told her that she was in love, but Lumina doesn't really understand it. As Lumina sees it, she likes everybody in the valley. She confesses that when she thinks of you, she feels a tightness in her chest; you're the only one in the valley that causes her to feel this way. Lumina asks you if she had a big brother, would he make her feel the same way; you can answer "Sure he would." or "I don't think so.". The correct answer is you don't think so.

Lumina realizes that she feels more for you than just brotherly affection, but the two of you are interrupted by Sebastian. Lumina tells you not to worry about what she's blubbering on about, and invites you to see her at the Villa again.

Once you complete the 4 heart events, you can give Lumina the blue feather. You won't actually live together until the end of The Beginning chapter, after Winter 10. When you go to the Villa to fetch Lumina, Romana reminds you that she's still in the middle of her "bride" training but Lumina says she'll be the best bride she can be.

At the start of the next chapter, Lumina will be grown into an adult. Her toddler baby looks pretty much the same whether you chose to have a daughter or stayed with the default son; it will have light brown hair and an orange outfit. It is easier to tell the gender once the child grows to a kid stage, starting in chapter 3.
