One of the key items missing from the Japanese version (1st version) was Buckwheat Flour. It was a cooking ingredient given to you by Thomas at the Winter 30 New Years Eve festival. If you had empty slots in your rucksack then instead of getting Buckwheat Noodles you would get the ingredient instead.

The flour is needed for completing the shipped items list, and for making a variety of cooking recipes. Without the flour you can't marry the Harvest Goddess.

This poll is to try and confirm if the item is obtainable in the English version, so do not vote if you have not even reached that point in the game. Any other topics other than flour will be deleted. If you have received a bundle of 10 flour from Thomas at the festival, please try to give details as to what you had in your rucksack, time, etc.

In the girl version of HMDS you get the flour every time. I can't even get the noodles :) you make the noodles using the flour and your kitchen instead.

EDIT: Upon further examination, I only have the Noodles. Forgive my upfront assumption. As for flour, i too have no idea.

No, I did not get the Flour... just the noodles. I had emptied my whole rucksack before entering.(besides tools because I do not own a tool box)

I tried doing the festival around 4 times... but the outcome was always the same.

I can actually kinda see what their mistake was (never coded for a DS, but I've made the same general mistake in c# about 1000 times).

They're giving the player the item Buckwheat Noodles instead of Buckwheat flour (the error I make: I put textbox1. instead of textbox2). It looks like everything else is running like it's supposed to ("Oh look, we got extra ingredients! Take some home!"), and they just screwed up what item they're giving out.

Tis' a shame really, I feel bad for anyone going for the goddess.

Edit: Triggered 6 times, 3 with action replay, 3 without. I can't get it to give me the items at all, although I'll admit with the action replay it's alot easier to get to the festival, less waiting :)

I got there right on time...
Only had stuff in ruckslot 1(theres 3)
Was married to Keria at the time with no child.
4 blessed tools? (who knows >.> )

And are you 100% sure it's the flour (can you take a picture of it somehow?)?

Cause everything I'm finding is saying it's not even coded in :S

No it must be coded in, theres even action replay codes to get it.

First Item Slot in Rucksack is buckwheat flour.

I even tested it on the action replay DS that i bought just to finish that d@mn lost in blue -.- . Theres a program you have to download if you want to add codes in to action replay DS(your sopposed to download codes but you can still add them yourself) but i'll ONLY post a link to it if Cher allows me to.

Well, it's still not good news for my friend - he doesn't believe in cheating.

Which basically means he's not getting the goddess, or he's learning japanese and shipping in the fixed japanese version (or hoping natsume recalls all original hmds carts and releases a translated fixed version)...

I'll google around for the program either today or tomorrow and check it out mahself - the bad news is anyone without an AR or a friend with an AR isn't gunna be able to get it regardless (so what if the item exists, you still gotta get it somehow).

In the mean time, thanks for posting the code part of it - that's the part that'd be the hardest to find :)



Edit: And to clarify, this is what I had meant (cheezy fake c#):

^ That's the kind of mistake I make. I forget to change the second part to reference the _right_ object (in this case, whether it's supposed to give you noodles or flour, it's giving you noodles).

I think it's a bit presumptuous for us to guess to how the problem came about, as they are professional programmers, and probably have a team of debuggers and testers to make sure most aspects of the game that could be tested are tested.
