The girl who comes to buy an egg?

Hi everyone. So I am playing the original Harvest Moon on my 3DS. I bought a chicken from the animal store and got it to lay several eggs which hatched into chicks.
One morning I see a girl with red hair saying her grandmother told her to buy an egg. I sold the girl an egg, but then a few days later I notice she comes back saying she believes she payed too much for the egg and would like some change.
I just said no to the girl as I found it to be kind of odd, but does saying no to this girl have any negative consequence later on?

You won't be scolded in a later event or anything like that. All that giving the girl her change does is increase a hidden parameter that determines how quickly you'll reach the ending of the game. There will be plenty of other opportunities to raise said parameter, so I wouldn't worry about it.
