Golden Sickle Upgrade?

The Harvest Sprite asked me if I wanted to upgrade my Sickle, so I said yes, turned the timer on, and went to play a different game. (New Leaf!)
I forgot completely about my game until the next day, I turned it on, and it told me that the sprites had watered the crops and stuff. But... I couldn't find my golden sickle! I checked the bench, no sickle. Spoke to the sprites, no sickle. Played to the next day STILL no sickle!
I thought that maybe, I'd done it wrong, so I turned it off, and on again!

Have I done something wrong? I have a field of grass that needs Harvesting!
Please help!
