Is there a way to get it to rain on weekends?

Lloyd and Sherry's Purple Rival event requires it to rain on Saturday or Sunday. Problem is that Saturday is almost always Bazaar day and it never seems to rain on the day of Bazaar results which usually is Sunday. I tested and it did not work on rainy Friday at the time the guide says (12 PM-4 PM), so it isn't in error. How can you get a rainy weekend? Is it this hard just to get Lloyd and Sherry's Purple Rival event?
