Charlie is asking Gannon's permission to go out with his little daughter. Gannon thinks they are both a little too young for such things but Charlie wants to know what he can do to make Gannon change his mind. Gannon tells Charlie that he needs to be 10 years older!
Charlie is still waiting for a response, so Gannon agrees to let him take Eliza out if Charlie can pass his test. Charlie is eager to hear what he has to do. Gannon tells the little boy that he has to fight him, and win. Charlie doesn't think he can do that, and Gannon becomes annoyed that he is giving up so easily. Gannon's speach invigorates Charlie, who is fully ready to take on Gannon to get Eliza to go out with him.
Charlie tries to beat up the muscular man but has a hard time inflicting any damage. He is persistant though, and tries over and over again. Gannon tells Charlie that he isn't strong enough yet, but he is impressed with him. Gannon says Charlie can't date Eliza, but the two kids can be friends. Charlie is welcome to try and fight Gannon again when he gets stronger.
