Terranecare Saga Chapter Two v1.0 By Sqrfrk sqrfrk@hotmail.com As I promised, the start of the saga. Not exactly the start... just that my short fanfic opens up the story here. And, do to popular demands, I've removed the corny little intros on every chapter. And to those of you that read this at Cherubae's Terranigma info page, there was one (1) error in there- Elder=Kumari Got some people kinda confused there... *** Chapter Two: The Dawn of a New Problem *** Elle: Asmodeus? Meilin: Perel! What are you trying to say? That our whole experience back at Beruga's Lab was for naught? Perel: There's no other reasonable answer! Elle: What is Asmodeus? Meilin: It is a deadly virus that nearly wiped out a civilization. A scientist named Beruga blatently used it for his mad schemes... Elle thought for just a moment. Elle: Perel! You said the entire town was deserted. Are you sure? Perel: Well, even for Loire, I considered it a lively place with people everywhere. No one is in sight. Maybe in the houses... Elle ran off over the hill. Meilin: Wait! Elle! Wait up! All three now ran towards Loire. Elle: We have to make sure. C'mon! The hill was unusually high, and it took long to reach the peak. As they climbed over, they went nearer to the town of Loire. Perel: There it is up ahead. The town...was nothing like what Elle had remembered. This place of growth turned into a bunch of cracked buildings and broken foliage. Elle: Oh my.... All three checked each and every house, one by one. Elle: No one's around.... A CRACK was heard in the distance. They turned quickly, and found that the sound originated from a house directly across the road... Meilin: Isn't that the Mayor's house? They rushed out of the house and ran across the street. The door....was locked. Perel used his skateboard and broke it open. What they saw... Elle: This is horrible... Dead and dying bodies were littered across the floor. The scarcely alive were moaning for death. Strangely, the dead had a much more peaceful aura. Elle: What happened...? A voice striked through the pleas for help. Jean. Jean: Hahaha...What happened you ask? Jean was lying against the wall directly across from the door. Blood oozed out of him from every pore of his head. Jean: *COUGH COUGH* You have no idea what we went through... Meilin: She asked what happened! Speak up! Maybe we can help you! Jean: HA! Help? Nothing can stop what we faced...the light...it was amazing...but only for those few precious seconds... Perel: Light you say...? Meilin: NeoTokio was destroyed the same way...but they were disintegrated... They didn't suffer like this... Jean: *COUGH* It was truly a sight. The people embraced that yellow light... but in a few seconds they screamed in horrible pain...It seemed they were burned alive...They just stood there recieving that torture...and strangely enough, the well held water as cold as it ever was. The water was also faced to the light....so I guess it wasn't some hideous fire... Elle was shocked at what she saw on Jean. A black burn was shown on the side of his body... Elle: Turn around Jean... Jean: Haha...You want to see....be my guest... Jean turned around slowly, and Meilin turned away. Jean: HAhahaaaa... His entire backside was burned away. Muscle or bone was only to be seen. Jean: Do you realize how painful this is...? HAAHAHAHA! Elle: Let's go...nothing can be gained from here. As the three walked out, Jean suddenly replied. Jean: Wait! Before you go...do me a desperate favor... Elle already understood. She walked up to the burned body, and raised her hands clutching the sharp pointed spear. Jean: Save the others... And the spear sprinted down. Jean made no sound. Just laid there...smiling... Elle: Let's head out of here. They moved out and stood at the middle of town. Perel: What should we do now...? This experience taught us nothing! Meilin: You fool! Do you call Asmodeus nothing? DO YOU CALL ALL THIS DYING NOTHING? *BEEP* Elle: What? What was that? *BEEP* Meilin: It came from Jean's house! They rushed back in. Elle: What in the world? Jean was gone. There was a transciever where his body was. Meilin: This is creepy... *BEEP* Elle walked up and picked the transciever up. ???: Now you should understand that there is another menace upon us. Go back to Lhasa....Kumari will tell you what to do. Elle: Who is this...? You told me to come here! Who are you?!? ???:... Elle: Hello?? ???:... Meilin: What should we do? Elle threw down the transciever. It crumbled to dust instantly. Elle: To Lhasa. Let's talk to Kumari. *** Guard: Lord...Kumari...Someone.... Kumari: What? What's wrong? The guard crumpled to the floor. Blood succumbed into a pool around his body. Then it burned and steamed toward the roof. A man was found behind him. Kumari: Who the hell are you? ?: Long time no see... Kumari: ...you.... The dark figured man rose a hand, and a light orb blasted out toward Kumari. Kumari: NO! Aaahh!! Kumari was absorbed into the orb, and the orb flashed back into the man's hand. ?: You want a tip? If I die, you'll be back to normal...Light Gaia! HAHAHAHAHAA!! The darkness on his face suddenly swirled and massed, and then there was Kumari. Kumari?: Guards! Remove this body on the floor! Do not bury him...for his last dying oath was tainted in his attempt to kill me! Laughter can be heard, even when a sound wasn't made. *** Perel: Elle! Take a turn around that mountain, maybe for about 2 miles, and you'll find Lhasa! Elle: And what about you? Perel: Meilin and I will stay right here. We'll wait for your return. Elle moved off toward the mountain, and walked around. * Elle: Elder! You said fate will periodically tell me what to do! It led me to you! Kumari?: Elle! How strange and coincidencial! You came when I have a new scrap of information. Come closer. Elle moved up. Kumari held out a box. Kumari?: Come out! A swirl of light flashed out of the box, and then there was.....YOMI!! Yomi: HELLO! Elle giggled at the sight of her new black bat thingy. Elle: Yomi! It's been a long time! Yomi: Actually, for me it's been only ten minutes. That's another complicated story, but I understand that I'm here for you...Ms. Heroine? Kumari?: But getting serious for a moment, I found where the Dark Gaia can be ressurected. Elle flashed back into her serious mood. Yomi just looked pissed for being interrupted. Elle: ...Yes? Kumari?: The Dark Gaia was destroyed in the underground world. A lock has been left there. Elle: A lock? What do you mean? Kumari?: You see, Ark unknowingly killed and sealed the Dark Gaia with a pendant. At his passing, the pendant split into two forms. One is hidden somewhere in the world, and the second is supposedly "where the Dark Gaia lies." Since he was destroyed, I'm guessing that the second form is somewhere near where the Dark Gaia was put to rest. Elle: Two forms? Go on... Kumari?: Ancient Prophecy Scripts were found with this information. And Yomi was found mysteriously near my bed... Yomi looked surprised. Kumari?: The Scripts from the ancient ones tell of this pendant in one form. When the Dark Gaia is disrupted in some way, such as being destroyed, then the pendant splits, leaving one side located most likely in the underworld. Elle: Why the underworld? Kumari?: It's almost impossible to leave the surface or underworld, except through the "hole", which i'll explain later. This should also apply to objects. Anyway, we just combine the two sides, and the Dark Gaia will be back to its normal self. Elle: What will happen with the Dark Gaia.... Kumari?: Don't worry. I'll come with you also, so we don't make any unnessecary mistakes? Kumari looked at Yomi. Yomi just pouted. Elle: Then why are we dwindling? Let's go! Kumari?: Wait. That's another problem. Only Ark has been able to go freely through the hole. You, Elle, might be lost in the huge chasm of the it. Elle: Then what do I do? Kumari?: Although I may be able to go through, you, the heroine, might be lost. So, you must contact Will near Nirlake. Elle: Wait-that doesn't make sense. The hole leads out and in...that's all there is to it. There's no nifty magical spell or anything. So how can I possibly get lost? Kumari?: Easily. You see, when the Dark Gaia was destroyed, Crysta and its inhabitants, with the exception of your dark side, has also been destroyed. This caused a huge tremor in the underworld, causing the hole to open up into many openings. When Ark went through, it was a straight hole going straight down. Now, it is a hole with many thousand openings. Since you fall at an alarming speed, you must choose the holes ahead of time, or you'll be lost inside the earth, eventually dying a very horible death. Elle: Okay...You mentioned Will? Kumari?: Ah, the aeronautical engineer. A person who developed the airplane. He also developed...the human wings. Elle: How is that possible? Kumari?: Not exactly human wings, of course. He calls them "gliders". It lets you float in the air, and fall at a much slower pace. Elle: Oh wow! Kumari?: The hole is huge, and you'll still fall at a fast rate, but the gliders should help you make decisions easier when I'm with you. Elle: And how do I know that your directions are correct? Kumari?: Scripts, remember? Besides, you don't have a choice. Yomi: And I'm here for what reason exactly? Kumari?: Just like you said, for Ms. Heroine over there. Elle blushed. Kumari?: And you know the world more than both of us put together. So you'll be a backup guide next to me. Yomi: Oh great. Elle: Well, let's head toward Nirlake! Perel will be thrilled to see Will again! Kumari got up, and dragged Yomi along with him. Elle followed after. *** ???: Elle...Soon...very soon...hahaha.... *** Well, you're one of three things.
