Ninja Turtles: The Next Mutation is a live-action half hour show that aired on the FOX television stations in the United States. The show first premiered in the fall of 1997 and has continued until June of 1998. It also has premiered in other countries earlier in 1998. In other continents besides North America it is called Hero Turtles: The Next Mutation. For more information on Hero Turtles, you can check out Andrea's TMHT Page
Along with the new television show comes some new characters. The biggest change is the addition of the female turtle Venus De Milo, who comes from China to help the Turtles fight against the Dragon Lord. She's not use to the type of lingo that the Turtles speak (like "badaboom" and "dude"), and her mis-pronunciations are very funny.
Will Ninja Turtles: The Next Mutation ever appear back on TV? As some FOX executives are concerned, the show is now dead in the water. And while some fans were excited to see the Ninja Turtles return to tv, there were others who absolutely hated the idea of a female Turtle and the cheesy sound effects. The show's future seems pretty bleak.
There are fans who are trying to save the show, including the folks at Mirage Studios, who maintain the Official Ninja Turtle Website. Many fans have put up web pages in support of the show.
