Rune Factory 2 has been confirmed to be in development for the DS. The game is 
a combined effort between Marvelous and Neverland, just like the first one. 
The two main characters this time are Kyle (Kairu) and Mana.

Story: It has been several years since the Zecks Empire's plan (from RF1) was 
thwarted, and peace has returned to the world. In the village of Alvanna, in 
a remote area of Norad Country, a boy named Kyle has come of age. Before he 
could begin his travels though, a mysterious girl shows up and disaster looms 
once again.

Famitsu's web site explains that there have been some improvements in the 
latest version. In the lower left-corner of the touch screen are 3 "touch 
pocket" tabs that open up inventory screens. It is suppose to make it easier 
for farming and adventuring. (The ring-system in Rune Factory 1 was already 
pretty easy to begin with, although there isn't a way for you to switch 
accessories or shields without having to open up the main inventory screen.) 

Since the game is just in the works, MMV hasn't dated the game yet. They do 
have the official web site up, but real content will be added later.

Marvelous has also updated their Harvest Moon Wii web site. The game has an 
official release date of June 7 in Japan. MMV has also introduced the new 
livestock animal, the OSTRICH. These giant birds can be raised and then 
rode like horses.

The child you have will help you with your work in the field, so farm work 
seems to be a family affair.

MMV introduced a few new characters as well. Pat's mother, Pran, runs the 
general store called Rusk. And Ponpei is the ship captain who takes you to 
the island in his boat.

The official TV commercial has also been uploaded to the Tree of Tranquility 
site. If you pay close attention, you can see the hero riding one of the new

Innocent Life is now out in Europe, as well as the Rising Star version of 
Harvest Moon DS. To make room for the multiple languages in the DS game, a 
few things had to be omitted from their version. The Sprite Casino only 
plays the Memory game, and the bookshelf in the house does not function at all.
