Marvelous updated the Rune Factory web site today, finally letting everyone know 
what the whole "rune" theme was for the game. When you plant and raise crops you 
might grow a Rune. These runes become Rune Points (RP) when you harvest the 
plant containing the rune. You'll also acquire RP from the crops you raise inside of 
dungeons, which will restore the dungeon as well. MMV has several screen shots of 
Laguna (the hero) with a HP and RP meter in the upper-left corner of the image, so 
these Rune Points are important to collect from your crops.

There are (so far) several types of monsters you can befriend with a Friendship 
Glove item. The latest creature is a large, carnivorous-looking Flower. You will also 
find a Monster Box, Big Mush (the large fungus), Mokomoko (the cute, fuzzy sheep), 
a Dragon, an Orc creature, and the bovine Buffamo.

MMV has also added a larger image of Lapis, the pink-haired "heroine candidate" who
 is the town's nurse. Lapis brings the number of potential hookups to 8. Besides Lapis 
you'll get to know...

Bianca - Wealthy girl
Sharon - A lady with a mysterious atmosphere
Rosetta - A rival of Mist, your farm helper
Tabetha - Bianca's maid
Firu - The mayor's daughter
Torte - A girl who likes to stay up late reading books
Melody - Someone who has also lost her memory, just like Laguna

The game isn't scheduled to be released until the middle of August, so there's always 
a good chance that more names might be revealed later ;)

Other than Rune Factory, the Harvest Moon news information has been pretty slow.
