Happy New Year! Now that it is finally 2006 we will finally get to see the release of 
Harvest Moon DS in English. We only have 3 months to go before the game is for sale
 in North America. Some magazines across the Atlantic are also stating that Harvest 
Moon DS will be out in PAL region in March as well. Lets hope we don't get any 
postponements.

In HMDS for Girl news, the color changing clothes happen to all of the bachelors, not 
just a select few that I mentioned in the last newsletter. Also if you marry a boy from
 Mineral Town (Harif/Cliff, Tore/Doc, Mick/Rick, Ain/Kai, or Purple/Gray), the game 
apparently does *not* end like it does if you marry a MT girl in the boy version of 
Harvest Moon DS. The boy from Mineral Town actually moves into the farm with you 
and you continue on as normal. They will leave the valley to go back to Mineral Town 
to work but they still live on your farm. Keep in mind that the extra boys are still 
difficult to marry because they only arrive once a week, and you need to connect a 
copy of Friends of Mineral Town into your DS console for them to appear at all 
(except for Ain, who shows up regardless every Summer).

As for the female child you can have, it is not just restricted to the Lumina girl child 
graphic from AWL: Special Edition. Each of the 5 children graphics have a boy *and* 
a girl counterpart. If you marry...

Ash/Marlin: green-hat Celia child
Gusta/Gustafa: blue-hat Nami child
Romio/Rock: pinstripe Muffy child
Gared/Griffin: orange-hat Lumina child
Kain/Carter: purple and red-hat Fren child

If you choose to marry Steiner or the Mineral Town boys, the look of the child will be 
randomly selected from the 5 available styles. The sex of the baby is also random so 
you won't know if it's a boy or girl until the birth event takes place. Of course, you 
could always save the night before and just reload if it's not to your liking.

Your own clothing outfit can be changed from inside of your house. There are 18 
different colored outfits to purchase for both the Claire character and the AWL Girl 
character. You also have 7 different wallpaper and carpet designs to choose from; 6 
special ones and then the normal design you start out with.

River King: Wonderful Journey for Playstation2 doesn't have a specific release date 
for North America yet, but it seems to be floating around the February/March 
timeframe. This fishing game also has guest appearances by Lumina from AWL, Dan 
from Magical Melody, and Gray from Mineral Town ;) If you're interested in seeing 
Harvest Moon characters in a non-HM game then you might want to pick up this little 
$20 USD game when it is released.

(*gleefully rubs hands* mwa ha ha... more River King followers... er, I mean fans....)

February is also the month that Marvelous is releasing the River King 1 and River 
King 2 Gameboy remakes on the GBA system in Japan. The two games will be 
combined into one cartridge and the graphics will be enhanced. An English release is 
not likely to happen, but it's nice to see more River King games being published.
