(__) (++) Ushi No Tane /-------\/ Harvest Moon News / | || Issue 40 * ||----|| www.fogu.com/hm/ ~~ ~~ December 10, 2004 Mr.SolidSnake sent me a link this morning to an article on IGN's site about a *NEW* Harvest Moon Gamecube game. The new version is labeled "Song of Happiness" (shiawase wa uta) and will be released in JAPAN in 2005. The IGN article mentions the game is already 65% completed (way to sneak it past me MMV!). http://cube.ign.com/articles/572/572349p1.html The article mentions the game will allow you to play as a boy OR a girl. The need for fences around your animals are back to protect your animals against wild dogs, and you can grow plants outside of the fields. The game will bring back character's your familiar with. The feature I like the sounds of is the fact that villagers will move in and out of your town depending on how you play the game. Yipee! I have yet to find much information (or images) on any of the Japanese sites I visit, but Matsuyama-san does have a little blurb about it in today's journal entry on his site. He mentions the world-view being small and cute, with characters who have short legs. I'm guessing the graphics are going to be very "chibi". He then suggests you and check out page 36 (he thinks) at a local store, but he doesn't say from which magazine ^^ Turns out he is referring to Famitsu magazine, because someone has so nicely already scanned the page 36 article. (thank juuu!) The Famitsu scan shows the game's graphics to be *very* Animal-Crossing-like. The characters and animals are all very small and cute ^^ Some of the old characters listed are Nina (Snes), Dia (Sth), Tim (Sth), Nami (Awl), Udo (??), Duke (btn/fomt), Blue (??), and Shin (??). The magazine scan also shows animals like cows, sheep, a horse, dog, cat, and pig. Naturally you can fish ^^ Just keep in mind that this game never may reach the English fanbase. There's been no word on any sort of translation, and with Natsume staying hush-hush lately, we may not know for a long time if it will ever be published by them. I uploaded the scans to the Fogu site http://www.fogu.com/hm6/041012_famitsu1.jpg http://www.fogu.com/hm6/041012_famitsu2.jpg Until next time! - What do you get if you cross a goat with a sheep? -- An animal that eats tin cans and produces steel wool *-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-* POLL QUESTION Last issue's results: Q: Udder rubbing? 32% = Oh yea baby... 36% = That's kinda weird! 32% = One udder is the same as another udder!
