It's been a while since anything "new" came out hasn't it? There 
is a Japanese strategy guide coming out April 18th along with 
the release of FoMT. The VIS FoMT website has updated their free 
desktop wallpaper area. Seems as though they forgot to add Cliff 
to the All-Characters one (oops!) so they uploaded a new version 
of it with him included.

In the AWL department, VIS updated their website with a preview 
of 23 characters from the game.

Translated to the best of my abilities...

1st Row - 
Takakura - The menacing leader of Forgotten Valley
Dariru (Dale) - An anti-social scientist
Kaataa (Carter) - An archeologist who is serious about his 
  studies
Furoora (Flora) - Kaataa's assistant with an indecisive nature
Gaafan - The Bar/Saloon master. He holds a guitar and likes to 
  gossip

2nd Row - 
Gari (Gary?) - A self-sufficient person and a new "tenant" 
  helper (my guess is he helps the "hero" when you start playing)
Padooku - Romano's family doctor (see Romano in row 5)
Pan - A general store owner who seeks unusual items (sort of 
  like Won in BTN)
Gaa chan - A "phantom" stuffed toy (basically appears in 
  unexpected places)
Gusutafa (Gustafa) - Lute-wielding minstrel who travels around 
  the world

3rd Row - 
Guraato (Glad?) - Harvest Moon's first Salary Man. Lives with 
  San and Kaite in a 3 person house (A "salary man" is what we 
  might call a "white-collar worker")
San - Guraato's wife and a very strict mother.
Kaite (Kate) - Guraato and San's kid. Likes to tease Hyuu.
Keseran - A fireworks maker. Successor of a several hundred 
  year-old secret formula.
Hyuu - Always being bullied by Kate and goes jogging daily.

4th Row - 
Goodai - Aloof artist ("aloof" as in daydreaming, etc.)
Moi - No occupation, promises the end of the world
Luu - The innkeeper, she dislikes Moi a little
Mukumuku - A puzzling animal who hibernates
Besta - Manages the gardening store where Sepiria works

5th Row - 
Romana - Master of the mansion, likes practical jokes
Rumina - A shy girl who lives in the mansion, also a little 
  selfish
Sebasu chan - The mansion's butler. Has associated with Romana 
  since she was very young

In April VIS will reveal more characters, but they didn't say 
what date that will be. I was hoping they would update how the 
link between FoMT and AWL works, but I guess we have to wait for 
info on that. There's still no Japanese release date although 
Gamefaqs.com has AWL listed coming out in English on September 
3rd. That'll probably change though as we all know that Harvest 
Moon games are always postponed to the later half of the year ;)

In the March 28th edition of Famitsu magazine there will be an 
article about AWL. Most likely the pictures will be scanned by 
www.newtechnix.com and put up on their website.

Late last week, gpara.com opened up their Harvest Moon virtual 
"chat room" where you can go and chat with other fans of the 
game. The chat room is in all Japanese of course but inside you 
can find a little Harvest Moon world with Nami, Sepiria, Muumuu, 
and the "hero" of AWL. All the houses are currently locked so 
you can't get into them, but maybe that'll change sometime in 
the future. You have to register for a free gpara.com account in 
order to access the chat room. I'll put up some images in the 
Harvest Moon Other forum.

Oh yes, in "Ushi no Tane" news there's now a forum for 
discussing non-Gameboy Harvest Moon games ;)
