The new Harvest Moon, coming to the DS, may not stray far from the farm-'em-and-milk-'em formula the series has followed for lo these many years, but at least the story this time around is interesting. The game's set in two different villages -- the European-themed Bluebell, and the Japanese-styled Konohana -- and their respective mayors are trying their best to get you, a would-be farmer, to move into their towns.

That choice is up to you, and it'll be affected by what exactly you want to do in this game. Bluebell is primarily focused on animals and livestock; it's where you'd keep herds of cattle, as well as the aforementioned alpacas. Konohana is much more involved with crops, meanwhile, from rice to fruits and vegetables. It'll be your job to become successful in whatever you decide to concentrate on, eventually marrying someone of the opposite gender and living out your happy, alpaca-laden life in harmony (presumably).

No US release has been announced yet, but the game's due out this winter in Japan.

The graphics are still just like typical recent HM for DS, and still a bit like WB
but love the artstyle and design
Somehow, the art gives the Sugar Village + WB feeling and i like both MC design already, plus Raspberry :heart:

Looking forward to see the "Eastern" Side

Yep. The graphic is from Wind Bazaar.

I love the new characters. They don't look like the old ones. I hope their personalities are original too. BTW, I have a feeling the guy with purple hat is a little like Juris.

The main characters are awesome. Finally, they don't look like 5 years old. I hope the game will be a little maturer than IoH/SI/WB.

Ha, the second I saw this, I literally IMed my friend and just typed "OHMYGODNEWHARVESTMOONGAME". xD
It looks a LOT like Wind Bazaar, and one of the (presumed) bachelors looks almost exactly like Juris, but I get to raise alpacas, so it's all good. Besides, I figure they HAD to add him, since his model seems to be really popular, along with Royd's.

If you look at the smaller screens it looks like the kerchief girl and the boy standing next to her on the first page are the player characters, so I'd guess the other four are either bachelor/ettes (most likely) or villagers.

I was so excited when I heard about this, I was just looking yesterday for a new harvest moon release in Japan. The plot sounds so interesting. Ah I hope new info will be available soon.

I'm afraid, the alpacas are in the european village only. And the new crops are in Japan :/

I believe the game has 2 slots already, so buying two copies won't be necessary :)
