If you need anymore quick money, use the excavation site trick:
1.Go into the excavation site
2.Save your game
3.Dig around for earings, chockers, ect. Remember where the are!!!
4.Load your saved game.
5.Dig where you got the jewellery last time.

It saves time, stamina, and fatigue! Also gets you money if you sell all findings to Van! P.S: I love this trick!

use accessories and buy cooked foods for mining too.

you're lucky. i got his heart up to yellow in my first year, ignored him for 4 years, got him to red and got the 60 sprites in year 11. now i lost my DS. it still had cUTE IN IT. :?
